CMLI Challenge - Baubles
Karen set our challenge this week and wants us to make something with Baubles as the theme. I had this beautiful LOTV stamp just begging to be inked up and all it needed was a bit of colour and some Glossy Accents. I couldn't even bring myself to sully the gorgeous white space with a sentiment so I matted it onto some coloured card and left it at that. I have to say, I love it.

A little Layout to brighten my day
Hello crafters
I've had such a lovely relaxing day today just fiddling with this layout for a challenge over at Scrap Addicts on Craftbubble. The lovely Scrappyjacky shared a sketch with us that she is using for a series of scrapping challenges and it really inspired me.
A few essentials needed to be gathered and the dining room went from this

to this

in the blink of an eye.
After much footling about with papers, buttons and other lovely crafty things, here is my LO

I used some gorgeous papers from the Scarlet's Letter and Boxer collections, both by Basic Grey. I love the way the colours work with the snowy theme.
As there's quite a lot of script on the paper anyway, I decided to put my journalling on a tag and tucked it behind one of my photographs. I embossed the tag with swirls for some texture so that it didn't get lost on the page.
Hope you like it. If you fancy a look at Jackie's lovely sketch, you can find it here
And there you have it. A good day so far.... Hope you're having a great day too.
Its all too much for Biggles. He's decided he needs a little nap.

I'm off to put another page together...

Late afternoon and the snow has melted a little bit
...but our snowman survives

The chickens are making the best of things under their new chicken house. We think it looks like a little Chickie Caravan. Does that make them Trailer Trash! Awwww, poor chickies....

and the lovely Biggles has come to stay for a couple of months. He wasn't at all keen on the snow when he first arrived but he's been down to see the chickens and seems to have got with the programme now....

Alas, I haven't made it to my craft room yet but its still early....

Let it Snow
Good grief! WE had snow in the night and we woke up to this stunning scene in the garden this morning. My themed challenge for CMLI has sort of set itself then.
LET IT SNOW!

Of course, a certain intrepid Clumber Spaniel has been down the garden to investigate and check on his chickie freinds at the bottom of the garden. He loves the snow...

Wrap up warm everybody

I'M BACK WITH CMLI SKETCHIE No 76
Well it's been a while hasn't it but what a busy time we've had. In short, we've moved to our dream house and it all happened pretty much at the speed of light. Its been all hands on deck sorting out my new craft room, settling the chickens into their new home and unpacking ALL THAT STUFF.... Where did it all come from? It was a sobering experience seeing it all in boxes I can tell you.
Anyway, after what seems like an age, I'm back with my first challenge of the year and my first challenge from my new home. I hope you enjoy it. We also have a new DT member at CMLI as the lovely KathyK has agreed to join us AT LAST! Its great to have you on board Kathy and I know we all look forward to your challenges.
The theme this week is TAKE IT AS RED and I've got a mood board photo to go with the sketch just to help you along.

and here is the sketch

Here is my card

I used my Copics to colour in the cutesy CC Designs image and the papers were from a beautiful set of freebies called Picnic in the Park from, I think, Quick Cards Magazine.
Of COURSE, there are more cards from our Design Team to see over at CMLI and I hope you will swing by and take a look and maybe even join in with the challenge.
Hi to all you intrepid Craftathoneers at the CMLI 2012 Bristol Craftathon. Have a great day won't you.

New CMLI Challenge
Rosie's challenge this week is to use the first stamp you ever bought to create a card. What a great idea. Remembering the first images that tempted me to try card making always makes me come over all misty eye'd. For me, it was Penny Black that first captured my imagination and I still think you'd have to go a long way to beat them for sheer "ahhhhh" factor. They're just adorable and I love them.
Anyhoo, as it happens, both Rosie and I had the gorgeous set of freebie papers from this month's Quick Cards so we decided to use the same three papers and see what we could come up with. As it happened, Rosie and I had very similar PB images as well. Those hedgies have a lot to answer for...
Here's my card

Right, I'm off to clean out my chickens. Have a fab day everybody. What was the first stamp you ever bought? Why not dig it out and re-live the lurrrrrve.

CMLI Themed Challenge - Sew Crafty
Shamelessly self indulgent themed challenge this week but I HAD to find a way to play with these fabulous House Mouse stamps. They're just adorable.
I used my Prisma's to colour the mice

The papers are by Basic Grey and I've had them in my stash for a while. This seemed like the perfect occasion to break them out of their box and play. I love the clashing pinks and oranges. Scrummy....
